MLCCC's Chinese New Year Free Community Gala
Free Admissions, All Are Welcome!
The Main Line Chinese Culture Center will host it annual Chinese New Year Community
Gala on Sunday January 22, 2012, at the Great Valley High School in Malvern. Attended
by hundreds of families from all cultural backgrounds, the Gala is the largest suburban
celebration of its kind in the region, featuring entertainment, cultural games,
prizes, and refreshments.
The Gala runs from 1pm - 5pm:
1pm-3pm is the Spring Festival Show, featuring stage performances of song and dance
by students, teachers, parents, and guest artists.
3pm-5pm is the Chinese Culture Fair – comprised of a dozen Games stations and Culture
Displays.
- Games – a dozen traditional Chinese
games and crafts such as Chopsticks Contest and calligraphy.
Visit stations, get stamps, claim prizes.
- Culture Displays – numerous stations
of self-standing tri-fold exhibits, on topics including Chinese inventions (paper,
silk, porcelain), History of Tea, Chinese history, and China today.
