MLCCC's Performance Scholarship Programs

The Main Line Chinese Culture Center's (MLCCC) Performance Scholarship Program currently offers the following two scholarships:

  • Outstanding SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) Performance Scholarship
  • Exemplary Performance in Chinese Study Scholarship

MLCCC recognizes the importance of dedication, diligence, and respectable moral character through these two merit-based scholarships for MLCCC students. To qualify, students must meet the guidelines for each scholarship, including but not limited to achieving a stated score on the College Board SAT or SAT II Subject Test in Chinese, and being nominated by a MLCCC teacher for the scholarship. Recipients will receive a certificate and a $50 reward for each of the two separate scholarships.


Guidelines pertaining to the Outstanding SAT Performance Scholarship:
  • Must have completed at least one year of the MLCCC Weekend SAT Program.
  • Must have achieved a score of at least 2200 on the College Board SAT.
  • Must be nominated by a MLCCC teacher as a testament to the applicant's moral character.
  • Must be high school Junior or Senior.
  • All students who meet the above requirements are eligible.
  • Recipients will receive a commemorative certificate and a $50 reward, both of which will be presented at the MLCCC Chinese New Year Gala each year.
  • This scholarship can only be awarded once per student.
  • Interested students should apply by submitting a completed application form attached with a copy of his/her official SAT score.

Guidelines pertaining to the Exemplary Performance in Chinese Study Scholarship:
  • Must have completed at least two years of the MLCCC Weekend Chinese as a Heritage Language (CHL) or Chinese as a Second Language (CSL) program.
  • Must have completed at least one term of the MLCCC Weekend SAT II Chinese Preparation Program.
  • Must have achieved a perfect (full) score of 800 on the College Board SAT II Subject Test in Chinese.
  • Must be nominated by a MLCCC teacher as a testament to the applicant's moral character.
  • Must be a high school student.
  • All students who meet the above requirements are eligible.
  • Recipients will receive a commemorative certificate and a $50 reward, both of which will be presented at the MLCCC Chinese New Year Gala each year.
