MLCCC Weekend School Classes

Serving children and adults (ages 3 and up), the MLCCC Weekend School provides a rich assortment of language and cultural classes that support attendees' educational, personal, and career goals. These classes include:

Mandarin Chinese Language

• Montessori Chinese for Pre-K (3 yrs to 5 yrs)
• Montessori Chinese Kindergarten (4 yrs to 6 yrs)
• CHL - Chinese as Heritage Language (grades kindergarten - high school)
• CSL - Chinese As a Second Language (multiple levels for children, teens and adults)
• AP Chinese / SAT II Chinese

Chinese Culture

• Chinese Dance (for children and adults)
• Chinese Musical Instrument Class
• Chinese Painting and Calligraphy
• Introduction to Sinology Class

Academic Enrichment

• MATHCOUNTS (math enrichment)
• English Writing (writing skill enrichment)
• SAT Prep

Other Enrichment

• Art (for different age levels)
• Athletic - Karate, Tennis, and Yoga
• International Chess and WeiQi (Go)
• Public Speaking: Speak with Dynamics

(All classes are 50 minutes except for CHL, AP Chinese/SAT II Chinese, and CSL, which are two 50-minute sessions with a 10 minute break in between. Language classes are taught by native Mandarin speakers. Most non-language classes are taught in English.)

TIME: Running from September to May on Sunday afternoons (1:00pm to 5:00pm)

LOCATIONS: Great Valley High School in Malvern, PA

SCHOOL YEAR: Divided into three terms of fall, winter, and spring with each term having 10 weeks

The school year also includes the 31st week that hosts a school assembly featuring performances from the students.
