MLCCC Chinese New Year Celebrations Gala

On February 7, 2016, MLCCC ringed in the Year of the Monkey with its annual free Chinese New Year Community Gala at Great Valley High School in Malvern. The celebration drew nearly 1,000 attendees from numerous communities in Greater Philadelphia. The Gala began with a Show in the auditorium that comprised of lion dances, Peking Opera sword dance, Chinese folk dances, martial arts demo, and songs and poems by local artists and MLCCC Weekend School students. The Show was then followed by a Culture Fair in the cafeteria with more than a dozen game/craft stations for children, and cultural presentations for adults, such as a teaching/taste station on many varieties of tea and a teaching/writing station on calligraphy. The festivity was further enhanced by authentic Chinese foods, snacks, and merchandise. "Your Gala is amazing! Each year is better than the previous!" were some of the feedbacks. Everyone had a fantastic time!
