We “gain” an hour as we move our clocks 1 hour back,

- Halloween Trick-or-Treat
During 2:45pm-3:05pm This Sunday – Candy and Volunteers Needed
Wear your costumes, bring your baskets, get your treats!
Come and enjoy our own Trick-or-Treat this Sunday! This annual Halloween event has
been popular at our school for kids and adults alike. The party will be held in
the Admin hallway during a longer break between the 2nd and 3rd period classes,
with 5 minute early dismissal from 2nd period class and 5 minute late start for
3rd period class. Although school and PTO have prepared sufficient candy and goodies,
always the more the merrier. So please bring in any spare candy or goodies from
your house if you would like to give them away to our kids. Make sure to leave your
name on the goodies you bring in, for future recognition. Also, we need helpers.
Decoration and prep will start around 1:15pm. We need 10+ people to supervise 10
tables to give away the treats, and also a few hands to help prep and clean up the
place after the party. If you can help, please do! Thank you so much in advance!

Participants Wanted for a Study at UPenn
Good morning!
My name is Cheryl Li and I am a graduate student working with Dr. Chen at University
of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. I am reaching out for Chinese American
children aged from 9-13 to participate in a study concerning children's social interactions
and adjustment. Essentially, we are interested in peer interactions and social and
psychological adjustment of Chinese American children and their friends. We are
also interested in exploring how different factors such as social and life experiences,
parenting styles, cultural values are associated with social adjustment and psychological
well-being of children. We believe that it will be a valuable experience for both
children and their parents as they might gain a deeper insight into children's development
from the participation.
Please see the attached
information letter and flyer
for details. for details about our study.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any concern or question. You can
reach me at (217)-898-3293 or
shiyaoli@gse.upenn.edu. Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you
for your time and consideration!
Best regards,
Cheryl
