4. New Chinese Folk Dance Teacher - Weiwei Ma
We have introduced a Chinese Folk Dance teacher in the summer. However, she could only commit to one year and we prefer a longer commitment. Fortunately, we have another teacher, Ms. Ma, Weiwei. Ms. Ma, a Chinese Artist, dancer, teacher and choreographer, started professional Chinese traditional dance training at the age of eleven. She studied choreography at The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Academy of Arts where she graduated with B.F.A. degree. Throughout the program, Weiwei worked closely with renowned master teachers and choreographers. She has taken part in many dance competitions and has won many awards in her native China. Before coming to Philadelphia, Weiwei taught Chinese classical dance and choreography at Beijing Contemporary Music Academy from 2009- 2013. During the four years of teaching, she was awarded Outstanding Instructor, and has organized two dance competitions of Dance College. At the same time, she was choreographing many works for Chinese media and theatre. She was awarded Outstanding Choreography in The Arts Festival of Tongzhou in Beijing in 2012. Weiwei has become a member of Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers since 2013. As a dancer, she performed in Fringe Arts Theater on November 19-21, 2015 in Philadelphia and she also performed in Spring Home Season Concert with Kun- Yang Lin/Dancers in Prince Theater on April 14-16, 2016. Below is her working experience:
5. Donating New or Gently Used Stationery or Toys to School Store
If you have any extra new or gently used stationery or toys in your home, please consider donating them to our school store. They can be treasures to our school’s other students. Thank you for your generosity in advance!
6. Parent-on-Duty Sign Up Needed
Our community needs everyone’s effort to ensure its efficient operation and safe environment for our kids, so parent-on-duty should be every family’s responsibility to fulfill. Please come to the Admin Desk to sign up. Ideally each family should sign up three times for the entire school year, averaged to once per term (which is 10 weeks). Thank you for your cooperation!
7. Update Your Contact Info at MLCCC Website
While you are registering your kids online for the new school year's classes, please also update your contact info, so the school can reach you if there are school cancellations, especially if due to unforeseeable weather conditions.
8. Summer Homework Completion Reward With School Dollars
CHL students (grades 2-9) who have done the Ma Liping summer HW book, will be rewarded with school dollars. Those who completed 90% or more of the HW book will be rewarded $10 school dollars and those who completed 40%-80% will be rewarded $5 school dollars.
