For all Chinese language classes except PreK and K, students will have their winter term exam this Sunday (2/28). Please help your child to review for the exam.

Also, most of the Chinese language classes are organizing the end of the term parties after the exam. Please help the teacher to clean the classroom after use.

Details:

1. 识字比赛 Character Recognition Contest Registration Starts Now
   The 8th annual MLCCC Chinese Character Recognition Contest will be held on 3/6 (for CHL 1st to 3rd grades) and 3/13 (for CHL 4th grade and above, and all CSL Levels). It is open to all of our CHL and CSL grade 1 and above students.
   
   For students who wish to participate in this contest, please register online at
   https://docs.google.com/forms/d/.../viewform?usp=send_form.
   
   It is a good opportunity and makes for a good reason for the students to review the textbook vocabulary s/he has already learned. A reward will be presented to top performers at the End of School Year assembly in May. Each participant will receive $2 school dollars.
   
   For CHL classes, participants will be randomly given 200 words from the vocabulary list, 100 of them from their own grade level, 50 each from their previous two grade levels. (2nd graders will be tested 150 words, 100 of which are from 2nd grade and 50 from 1st grade; 1st graders will be tested 100 words, all of them from 1st grade; 9th graders will be tested 250 words, all of them from 9th grade.) Participants must read out the words instantly and accurately. Students who are able to correctly read 95% and above will be the winners.
   
   For CSL classes, each participant will be randomly given 150 words. 100 of them are from their own grade level, 50 each from the previous levels. (The level I students will be tested 100 words from their own grade level.) Participants must read out the words in Chinese and translate into English instantly and accurately. Students who are able to correctly read 85% and above will be the winners.
   
   The vocabulary list for both CHL Chinese classes and the CSL Chinese classes are on Quizlet. Once you have registered to participate the contest, we will invite you to join the Quizlet class to access the vocabulary list. You can use Quizlet to review the words or print them out to review.
   
   
2. MLCCC’s Summer SAT/ACT Prep at Villanova - Group Discount!
   We will give $75 additional discount per student for a group of 5 or more students or give $100 additional discount per student for a group of 10 or more students. Please help us spread the word and take advantage of this offer.
   
   Program details:
   Choose either SAT Prep or ACT Prep
   Dates: 8/1/2016 – 8/18/2016 (3 weeks)
   Time: Mondays – Thursdays, 9AM – 4PM
   Location: Villanova University
   Tuition: $1,350 if early registration by 4/15/2016, else $1,500. Materials fee is included in the tuition.
   Founded by University of Pennsylvania alumni, Ivy Experience is effective, up-to-date, responsive, and experienced in the college application process.

3. MLCCC Summer Camp Registrations Begin
   Wayne Chinese Camp: 9 weeks, 6/20/16 – 8/19/16
   Location: The Church of Christ at Valley Forge, 45 Walker Road, Wayne, PA 19087
   Time: Full day 8am-6pm; 3/4 day 8am-3pm; half day 8am-1pm;

   English Writing Camp or Math Enrichment Camp details:
   - 2-week camp from 7/5 – 7/15 or 7/18 - 7/29;
   - 3 hours each day, morning session (9am-noon) and afternoon session (1pm-4pm);
   - classroom is inside Wayne Camp. Students can enroll in:
      · English Writing Only (Registration form)
      · Math Enrichment Only (Registration form)
      · English Writing and Chinese (Registration form)
      · Math Enrichment and Chinese
      · English Writing and Math Enrichment
      · Pre or aftercare for before morning session or after afternoon session
