- Halloween Trick-or-Treat 2:45pm-3:05pm This Sunday
Wear your costumes, bring your baskets, get your treats! Come and enjoy our own Trick-or-Treat this Sunday! The event will be held in the Admin hallway during a longer break between the 2nd and 3rd period classes, with 5 minute early dismissal from 2nd period class and 5 minute late start for 3rd period class. Happy Halloween!
Although school and PTO have prepared sufficient candy and goodies, always the more the merrier. So please bring in any spare candy or goodies from your house if you would like to give them away to our kids. Make sure to leave your name on the goodies you bring in, for future recognition. Also, we need helpers. Decoration and prep will start around 1:15pm. We need 12+ people to supervise 12 tables to give away the treats, and also a few hands to help prep and clean up the place after the party. If you can help, please do! Thank you so much in advance!
- Halloween Candies/Goodies Donation and Volunteers Needed
To make our party successful, the more candies/goodies the merrier! If you can donate, please bring in labeled with your name, for future PTO recognition. Any amount of candies/goodies would be appreciated!
Additionally, we need volunteers to help decorate the party, supervise a table to give away the treats, and do post party clean up. If you can help, please let us know.
Thank you in advance for your generous contribution of treats or time!
- Drop Off at Main Entrance, Not Our Wing’s Door
If GVHS does not have a special event where we specifically say our wing’s door is open, please drop off at the main entrance of the school and not at our wing’s entrance. Parents have voiced that some people stop their car by our wing’s door, let their kids off, knock on that door which is locked, wait for people inside to open it to let their kids in, then drive away, all while blocking a string of cars behind them on that one-lane road. Please drop off at the main entrance and not at our wing’s door. Thank you in advance for being considerate.
- Possible Music Classes Survey
We have a couple teachers can teach the following types of music classes:
Basic Music Theory
Guitar
Drums (架子鼓)
Ukulele
Adults and children can be in the same class as long as the adults don’t mind being in the same class as children. If anyone is interested in any of the above classes, please complete the survey below https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeFkvZAnhicbpli3Tl6MM3Dv1AXjb2MrxlMIhhi1F2P6n7Evg/viewform?c=0&w=1
We will open class if there are enough interests.
- Children’s Chorus at 12:30pm Starts After Thanksgiving
Continuing on the success of our prior Adult Chorus, Ms. Wen Li is organizing a Children’s Chorus that will start rehearsing during 12:30pm-1pm from after Thanksgiving to Chinese New Year Gala. The songs will be in Chinese. If anyone is interested and has not told us already, please reply to this email or let us know at the Admin Desk. Thank you to Ms. Wen Li.

Ray Gu - brush paintings from Chinese Painting class
Kaitlyn Schrann - brush paintings from Chinese Painting class
Zoe Trombley - brush paintings from Chinese Painting class
宁文辉 - brush paintings from Chinese Painting class
Please come to the Admin Desk this Sunday to claim.
- Chinese Schools Ping Pong Tournament at Delaware ChunHui (春晖) Chinese School
Our team is getting into shape now and they are practicing this weekend. Mr. Wenyao Hu will be lead the MLCCC Ping Pong team to compete with other schools. We can still use more players, and especially need people who can be referees. If anyone is interested in any of the positions, please let the Admin know.
The following announcement is from the Greater Philadelphia Chinese School Union (大费城地区中文学校联合会) to each Chinese school:
按照今年中文学校联合会理事会的决定,我们将在11月12日(星期六)下午1点至6点举办中文学校联合会的首届校际间乒乓球比赛。地点是Delaware的春晖中文学校。时间已经很紧迫了,希望各校抓紧组队。
项目包括团体,男单,女单,男双,女双及混双。
报名截止日期10月31日。
我校现正有五名球员报名,但是需要教练和两位裁判。请来Admin Desk报名。
