Dear Parents,
Zhang Bo’s seminar on Home Safety last Sunday was very well attended. Thank you again, Zhang Bo!
Along the line of safety, we want to remind everyone that please use the main entrance to ENTER and LEAVE the school building. The doors at our wing is only for special occasion where GVHS has a special event and we specifically say our wing’s door is open. Entering and leaving from the doors at our wing has many safety concerns, especially when the students were not supervised because the road immediately outside the door is an extremely busy road. We have also found the door ajar open by someone purposely to make it a little convenient for themselves. Please remember our students’ safety is our top priority. A little long walk(through the main entrance) makes our school a little safer.
Please also make sure that there are someone to supervise your child or children coming in and out of their classrooms, especially in transition to other classes. Our teachers will make sure the students’ safety in the classrooms. But after the students left classrooms, the parents need to be in charge. On Sundays, the school is an open public space where anyone can walk in. In most of days, there are several different groups using space here. Please be vigilant at all times. If you find anything suspicious, please let the admin know.

- MLP Track and CSL Track Chinese Classes: Fall Term Exam This Sunday
All MLP Track and CSL Track Chinese classes will have their Fall Term exam this Sunday. Please help your child(ren) to prepare. Snacking inside the classroom is allowed this Sunday, so feel free to host those After Exam Parties this Sunday. Please make sure to help the teacher to clean the classroom afterwards.

Mr. Wei Yong has held several seminars at MLCCC in the past and his popular speaker reputation is well deserved from the topics he has covered. So don’t miss this chance to catch up with him and his presentation again.
His topics will include education funds like 529, Coverdell etc., college financial aid, tax efficiency planning, retirement planning, life insurance, and other personal financial topics you can think of.

- Drop Off at Main Entrance, Not Our Wing’s Door
If GVHS does not have a special event where we specifically say our wing’s door is open, please drop off at the main entrance of the school and not at our wing’s entrance. Parents have voiced that some people stop their car by our wing’s door, let their kids off, knock on that door which is locked, wait for people inside to open it to let their kids in, then drive away, all while blocking a string of cars behind them on that one-lane road. Please drop off at the main entrance and not at our wing’s door. Thank you in advance for being considerate.
- Children’s Chorus at 12:30pm Starts After Thanksgiving
Continuing on the success of our prior Adult Chorus, Ms. Wen Li is organizing a Children’s Chorus that will start rehearsing during 12:30pm-1pm from after Thanksgiving to Chinese New Year Gala. The songs will be in Chinese. If anyone is interested and has not told us already, please reply to this email or let us know at the Admin Desk. Thank you to Ms. Wen Li.
