2/17/2017-MLCCC Chinese and Enrichment Summer Camps, PTO Food Sale, Exercise and Photography Clubs

Dear Parents,

In response to popular demand, we will run our Chinese Camp for 9 weeks from 6/19/2017 through 8/18/2017.  Attached is the revised 9-weeks Chinese Only Camp registration form which will also be at the Admin Desk.  Thank you for the feedback.

Registration for our Enrichment Camps is starting as well.  Attached is also our Combo Camp form, which registers for a combination of Chinese Camp and our Enrichment Camps.  Enrichment Camps are 2 weeks from 8/7/2017 - 8/18/2017, either in the morning, or the afternoon, or you can attend both.  You can also attend Chinese camp for half the day and Enrichment Camp in the other half of the day.  The subjects are:

English Writing - rising 3rd and 4th graders in one group, rising 5th and 6th graders in another group

Math - rising 3rd and 4th graders in one group, rising 5th and 6th graders in another group

Fencing - for ages 7-14: beginners in one group, intermediates in another group.  Intermediates = those who have passed the foil test.  Equipment/gear will be provided.

2. MLCCC Exercise Club Meets This Sunday 1pm-2pm in Room 166
   Do you wish that you exercised more?  Do you want a more toned body?  Well turn that wish into reality and join the exercise club started by our parent Ms. Lydia.  The exercise club will meet every Sunday, including this Sunday, in Room 166 for aerobic exercises!  Everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, skill level, and language.  Come and check it out.  Be sure to wear sneakers and exercise clothes, and bring a large bottle of water.  You will spend a relaxed and joyful afternoon with your club mates!

   每周定期在166教室活动。和LYDIA一起 或者自行操练，按照郑海燕系列健身操锻炼身体。
   我们现在已经有一个微信群微信群的名字［明朗健身房 ］，请大家踊跃参加。
   年龄不限，性别不限，水平不限，随到随练，欢迎大家光临。
   只要你带上一双心爱的运动鞋和一套漂亮的健身衣裤，再带上一大瓶水，保证你会和同伴们过一个轻松愉快的下午。

3. MLCCC Photography Workshop This Sunday 2pm-3pm in Room 166
   明朗中文学校影视俱乐部!
   在家长李路和 Bill Zhang 的共同努力下的，明朗中文学校［影视俱乐部］不定期活动正式开启。欢迎加入他们一起学习， 探讨影视世界的乐趣。相信你们会在我们学校的各种各样的社区活动中发现取之不尽的题材。
   明朗影视群本周的活动内容包括：
   实例讲解不同相机设置的图片效果(15min).
   Workshop学习相机的常用设置，现场实践不同光圈、快门等的各自特点（45min).
   时间：2月19日2:00PM-3:00PM

   Under the efforts and direction of our parents Mr. Lu Li and Mr. Bill Zhang, the MLCCC Photo & Video Club is born!  They will host a workshop this Sunday, primarily in Chinese, in Room 166 at 2pm, to teach the basics of photography.    
   
   
4. 识字比赛 Character Recognition Contest on March 12 and March 19
   Our Annual Chinese Character Recognition Contest is coming soon.  More details will come out in the following week.  
   
   
5. MLCCC 2017 Chinese New Year Gala Video Available
   The enhanced Gala video by our high school videographer Jack Lee and our parent editor Lu Li will continue to be available for copying at the Admin Desk.  The video is 1 hour 26 minutes 15 seconds long, m4v format, and can now be played by iTunes, QuickTime, VLC, Windows Media Player, etc.  Mr. Li also improved the soundtrack and parsed the video into chapters.  If you would like a copy of the Gala video, please bring a USB drive that is at least 6GB.  A big thank you to Jack Lee and Mr. Lu Li!!
   明朗学校的影像大师李路为了让明朗的家长和孩子们尽快看到我们春晚的节目回放， 加班加点，不辞辛苦，及时地对全程录像加工整理，尤其是对录像的音乐轨道重新地进行了组合，大大地改进了观赏的质量，而且他选用的格式能与多种不同的媒体播放器匹配：晚会录像全长1小时26分15秒，m4v 格式，4.6G，可以用iTunes，QuickTime Player，VLC，Windows Media Player各主流软件播放。视频带有Chapter，除了Windows Media Player外其他的都可以有选择性观看任意一个节目。
   需要拷贝的家长请自带足够大的USB盘 ［拷贝整个节目建议最少6GB ］。分解的独立视频共20个，包括Opening和Closing， 大小不一。
   还有， 在此我们要特别感谢JACK  LEE，［李卫国大夫之子］在妈妈的帮助下，坚持把整个演出全盘录制，而且采用了专业性的视角和分明层次，大大的改进了影像的质量和可观赏性， 我们谢谢他无私的奉献精神!
