MLCCC 2018-12-09 news letter

Dear Parents,

Parent On Duty/周日值班: This Sunday, December 9, Thank You!

1-3PM: Open

3-5PM: Open

Sign Up link is HERE. There are still many slots open in December and January.  Please sign up to help out. Your helping hands will help make our school a safer and better place for our children to learn, play and grow. Thank you.

1. PTO’s First “Book Exchange & Sale” Begins This Week in Admin Hallway, Runs for Two Weeks.

1) All transactions are done through “tickets”.

2) To buy books: first buy tickets beforehand, at $1 = 4 tickets.

3) To sell books:

- You decide on how many books to sell and how many tickets to charge for each book.

(PTO's recommendation is to sell fewer than 5 books and each book for no more than 25 tickets.)

- Label each book clearly with # of tickets needed to buy it.

- Lay out a small box next to your books, so people can place tickets into the box (honor system) to buy your books.

- Take your books and box home every Sunday.

4) Tickets not used or left over at the end can be exchanged back into money.

2. Weekend School’s Math Teachers Invited to Coach Radnor School District’s MATHCOUNTS Team and Math Club

Mr. Tom Le, our MATHCOUNTS teacher, has been asked by Radnor Middle School to be its MATHCOUNTS team’s official coach. He will be leading Radnor students as they compete in the MATHCOUNTS Delaware County Chapter Competition in February 2019.

Dr. Robert Hsu, our Math Enrichment teacher, has been asked to be Radnor Elementary School’s Math Club teacher.

Congratulations to both!

3. Interest in 24 Game?

We wanted to ask if students are still interested in participating in the mathematical 24 Game (applying addition, subtraction, multiplication, division to 4 numbers to get 24), which has traditionally been held in January.  If only a few students are interested, we will not hold it.

4. MLCCC Safety Ambassadors Patrol the Hallways

You have seen them in action, our volunteer Safety Ambassadors (Alan Liu and Victor Liu) have been patrolling the hallways during the recess, and they have done a great job. Alan Liu takes a break at the Wall of the Gratitude during recess patrol. Please support their work by obeying their safety instructions. Thank you!

Look forward to seeing everyone this Sunday!

Best Regards,

Qunbin Xiong - Principal

Julia Chou - Vice Principal

Sally Chen - Director of Academics
