中秋节快乐！Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Best wishes to you and your family!   

After three weeks of our school year, registrations, class switches, new openings and closures are mostly finalized. Classes with extremely low enrollment, 0-1 student, have been closed and parents notified. Thank you to everyone for your patience during this process. It is an annual ritual for all of us :)

Details:

1. Do Not Use Our Wing’s Entrance - Safety First
   While most of our parents enter through the main entrance (thank you!), some parents are entering through our wing’s door.
   We want to remind everyone, to please do not enter the school building through our wing’s entrance door! Many cars drive through that area. It’s very dangerous! Everyone please walk along and enter through the Main Entrance. GVHS has already posted a “NO ENTRY” sign on that wing’s entrance. That entrance is also locked. Please observe this rule. Thank you!  
   
   
2. Keep GVHS CAMPUS AND CLASSROOMS Clean
   We were notified by GVHS that someone spilled coffee onto the walls of classroom 166 and did not clean it up. This room has no class and is reserved for parents. We want to remind everyone to please clean up after yourself. If you need help, please let Admin/PTO know. Even if you are not the one who spilled but you happen to see it, please let us know. It is best that we hear it from you instead of from GVHS. Again, most of our parents are very responsible about cleanliness and we thank you.  
   
   
3. Schoolwide Admin-Parents Meeting Tomorrow in Cafeteria: at 1:15pm and 3:15pm
   We invite all parents to attend this annual meeting. Come and learn more about our school, our programs, our center, classes, finance, etc, plus Q&A.  The first session is at 1:15pm, in Mandarin. The second session is at 3:15pm in English.
   
   
4. PTO Sponsored China Culture Event: Mid-Autumn Festival Celebrations at MLCCC, Tomorrow 1:50pm in GVHS Cafeteria:
   The first Chinese Culture Event hosted by our new PTO will be this Sunday! This event will feature the history of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and how to make BingPi Moon-Cake (冰皮月饼). This event is open to all of our students, teachers, and parents. Students will also have the chance to make and taste the Moon-Cake.  Check out the Youtube links below on the Mid-Autumn Festival.   
   Date and Time: 10/01/2017, 1:50pm in the Cafeteria of GVHS
   本周日新一届PTO(家长-老师联盟)将首次举办《明朗中国文化系列活动》之一： 中秋话月饼， 中秋故事和月饼的来历， 制作演示及品尝。
   活动安排在1:50pm开始，地点在学校的餐厅，主要内容是演示冰皮月饼的制作。届时将会有机会让孩子们压模月饼成型，绘画班和小记者班的同学们也会前来助兴和采访报道。为了让孩子们充分了解中秋节背后的故事，建议家长们和孩子们一起先看看下面这两个五分钟的视频，让孩子们了解一下中秋节和月饼的由来：

5. Put Back Brown Metal Chairs
   Just a friendly reminder to please return the brown metal chairs to the container near the Admin Desk when you're finished with them. Metal chairs scattered in the hallways may be a hazard for our children during recess, such as running into it, climbing onto it, causing accidents. Plus it helps us a lot to tidy up. It is both for safety and courtesy! Thank you for your attention.
   
   
6. MLCCC Children’s Dance Troupe Performs at the Central Free Library of Philadelphia on October 14
   As part of the 100th Anniversary‘s multi-cultural celebrations of the Benjamin Franklin Parkways in Philadelphia. See attached preview. To purchase tickets, use link below.

7. Introducing Upa Yoga and Isha Kriya
   Free yoga demo lessons and instructions, AT 3:PM, on two consecutive Sundays: 10/08/2017 and 10/15/2017
   “Upa Yoga” essentially means “sub-yoga” or “pre-yoga”. This program offers a simple yet powerful set of 10 practices that activate the joints, muscles and energy system, bringing ease to the whole system. Anyone who is 7yrs of age or above can practice Upa Yoga.

   “Isha” means that which is the source of creation. “Kriya” means an inward action towards that.

   Come check out and support China’s national treasure of an art form on November 11 in King of Prussia! The show is performed by the Philadelphia Chinese Opera Society, artistically directed by renowned Peking Opera artist Ms. Shuyuan Li 李淑媛女士, and accompanied by professional drum artists 赵万金，田罡。 About 12 pieces will be performed. 10. [Senior CAREs Club] English Class Resumes This Sunday
    The free English lesson for our Senior CAREs Club members will resume this     Sunday. We invite all seniors to come and join this free and fun lessons taught by our volunteer Teachers Eric Torri and Nikki Cao, thank you!
